After completing his law degree and LPC (Legal Practice Course) in Leeds. James began his legal career working on clinical negligence cases, before joining international law firm Eversheds in 2005 to manage the Asset Management Group. James transferred, with the Asset Management Group, to another international law firm DAC Beachcroft in 2011. James qualified as a solicitor in 2013.
Over the course of more than a decade, James has developed a strong reputation and high level of expertise in asset management, including secondments in house at Telefónica, where he worked on some of the UK’s largest communications infrastructure projects, including the London Olympics in 2012.
James is a trustee of the charity Team Verrico, which supports the fight against lethal diseases, especially Triple Negative Breast Cancer.
James can provide expert commercial and commercial property advice on a range of issues including the sale or purchase of assets or shares, incorporation, shareholder and partnership agreements, joint ventures, limited liability partnerships, lease agreements and financial matters.
Outside work, James lives in Hipperholme with his wife and young son. A keen runner, he is often spotted pounding the pavements of Calderdale and taking part in punishing charity runs.
James joined Wilkinson Woodward in March 2017 and is based at our Halifax office.
