Q: Tell us a bit about yourself.

A: I am 57 years old, married, and I live in Rochdale. When I was eight years old, my parents were moving house and took me to the solicitor with them when they went to sign the papers. Since that day, my dream was to become a solicitor.

Q: You have an extensive and impressive resumé. Tell us more about your career before joining Wilkinson Woodward.

A: I realised my dream when I qualified as a solicitor in 1991 and have now been practicing law for more than 30 years. When I first started out, I did all aspects of legal work. However, I began to specialise in private client work in 2007 and have dedicated myself to that field ever since. I previously worked in Lancashire and Huddersfield.

Q: Why did you decide to join the Wilkinson Woodward team?

A: Wilkinson Woodward is not only long established but is well respected and has a stellar reputation across Calderdale and Kirklees. This, coupled with the knowledge and experience of the private client team, really appealed to me. Additionally, the firm’s values are closely aligned with my own.

Q: What has been the biggest achievement of your career to date?

A: Being quoted as saying “no comment” on the front page of the News of the World.

Q: Which aspects of your job do you find challenging?

A: Every aspect of law has its challenges, but dealing with cases involving children injured at birth is personally very difficult. These cases are not only legally complex but are also emotionally fraught.

Q: You mentioned the team’s knowledge and experience. What strengths do you bring to the team?

A: My experience, expertise, and my friendly and helpful attitude.

Q: What do you do outside of work? How do you spend your free time?

A: I have a menagerie of pets which, along with my husband, keep me quite busy. I also love horse riding. I hate housework, however!
