Meet Rida, our new receptionist

In July, we welcomed a friendly new face at the front desk of our Halifax office – Rida Whitelegge.

We asked her a few questions to learn a little bit more about her and her first impressions of the firm, also what she enjoys doing in her free time.

Q: Tell us about your role.
I work as a receptionist, which means I’m here to help anyone within the company, as well as everyone who walks through the door. From greeting clients to handling calls and emails, I’m often the first point of contact. I also make sure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly, working closely with my colleague Julie, who has been a brilliant mentor since my first day.

Q: Tell us about your career journey so far.
I studied Law at university, which gave me a strong foundation for understanding the work we do here. After graduating, I gained experience in sales and insurance, which helped me develop a range of valuable interpersonal skills.

Q: What attracted you to the role at Wilkinson Woodward?
I’ve always had an interest in Law, and what better way to explore this than in a role where I’m surrounded by legal professionals? As a practice, Wilkinson Woodward is very well-established, and I was extremely excited about the opportunity to be part of such a reputable and respected firm.

Q: Since joining, what has stood out to you about the firm?
The friendliness and caring nature of every single member of staff. On my first day working solo, several people checked in on me to make sure I was doing okay, which really made me feel valued and supported.

Q: What are your favourite parts of the role so far?
I love the variety, as no two days are the same. I also genuinely enjoy working with all the staff, who always make my day brighter.

Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I have quite a few artistic hobbies – I particularly enjoy editing videos, drawing portraits, listening to music and painting. I love spending time with friends and family whenever I can, and I really enjoy watching movies.

Q: What is your favourite film?
The Breakfast Club – I’ve watched it so many times!

Q: Is there something you are excited about or looking forward to?
Yes! I’m very excited about attending Tomorrowland in Belgium next year. It’s been on my bucket list for years.

Q: What would you say to anyone considering applying for a job at Wilkinson Woodward?
I’d say go for it! You’ll be challenged, supported, and surrounded by talented people who genuinely want you to succeed.

Rida has already become a valued and much-liked member of the team at Wilkinson Woodward. Her warm personality, strong work ethic, and willingness to help others make her the perfect first point of contact for our clients and visitors. We are delighted to have her on board and look forward to seeing her develop and grow within the firm.
