Introducing Ella Bleu, Trainee Solicitor
We caught up with Trainee Solicitor Ella to find out more about her journey into law, what inspired her to join the firm, and the hobbies that keep her busy outside of work.
Q: Tell us about your role.
I am currently a Trainee Solicitor completing my first seat within the Family Department. My role includes supporting solicitors with ongoing cases, drafting legal documents and court orders, attending court hearings, assisting with financial settlement negotiations, and liaising with clients and third parties. As I continue my training contract, I look forward to continuing to develop my legal knowledge and practical skills across different areas of law.
Q: Tell us about your career journey.
I started my legal career in 2021 by volunteering at a local law firm before securing a part-time role alongside my university studies. During that time, I gained experience in residential conveyancing and wills and probate.
I graduated from the University of Huddersfield in 2023 with both an LLB Law degree and an MLP Law qualification and joined Wilkinson Woodward shortly afterwards.
Q: What attracted you to Wilkinson Woodward?
Wilkinson Woodward has a strong reputation in Huddersfield, which really appealed to me. I was also encouraged to apply after receiving an award sponsored by the firm for achieving the highest grade in Property Law and Practice at university, where I met members of the team who were incredibly kind and supportive.
Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Outside of work, I love discovering new restaurants and places to visit with friends and family – I’m a huge foodie. I also spend a lot of time with my dog, Bee, who I got during the pandemic and who now comes almost everywhere with me, even the office!
When I’m not out and about, you’ll usually find me reading. I’m a big bookworm and currently trying to beat my personal record of reading 126 books in a year.
Ella is a valued member of the Family Department in Huddersfield and Halifax, and we look forward to supporting her as she continues to develop her legal career with the firm.
