Next Step Trust expand into 1855 Building

As one of our chosen local charities, we’re delighted to be supporting Calderdale’s Next Step Trust in the most recent milestone of their ongoing development.

We recently secured a lease for the Trust to operate from the 1855 Building which is part of Eureka! The National Children’s Museum.

The Next Step Trust supports over fifty adults with learning disabilities and/or complex health needs.

The 1855 Building’s central location, spacious facilities and historic significance will provide the ideal base for the Trust to meet the needs of existing and future Next Step clients.

Our commercial property specialist Hardev Kaur handled the legal aspects of the lease on behalf of the Trust, who hope to move in to the 1855 Building later this year.

Established in 2006 by just a handful of parents, the Trust operates from several local centres where it provides specialist support and facilities to young people, their families and carers. Last year the work of the Trust was recognised when it was awarded “Breakthrough Charity of the Year” at the 2017 Community Spirit Awards.

Our Managing Director Maureen Cawthorn has been a member of the Next Step Board of Trustees since 2008.
