Calderdale Local plan could highlight space for new homes

If you're a local land owner, you may have been approached by Calderdale Council as part of their work to identify sites for development and protection.

The Calderdale Local plan (which will replace the current unitary development plan) will identify sites to be developed, or protected from development. This includes:

  • housing
  • employment
  • retail
  • minerals and waste
  • open spaces, sports and recreation facilities
  • community uses
  • green belt
  • environmental protection areas

Calderdale Council are contacting local land owners regarding the potential reclassification of local land. The plan has been through consultation and is thought to be adopted in November 2019.

If you plan to develop land, or are considering the sale of land for development, please contact our team of property specialists in Halifax, Brighouse or Huddersfield for expert advice.
