140 Miles for 140 Years: Our Anniversary Ironman Challenge, Raising Funds for Dementia UK

Wilkinson Woodward Solicitors is celebrating 140 years of continuous service to our local community.

To mark this milestone, our team is participating in a Charity Ironman Challenge, completing one mile for each year of our history.

On 21 September 2026, our staff will collectively cover 140 miles, with team members walking, cycling or swimming their share.

This event will raise funds for our chosen charity, Dementia UK, as part of our wider fundraising efforts throughout our anniversary year.

Why Dementia UK

Dementia UK was chosen by our team because many of our staff members have seen the effects of dementia firsthand within their own families.

In practice, our wills and probate team work closely with families navigating the legal, financial, and personal decisions that follow a diagnosis. We guide our clients through crucial steps like establishing Lasting Powers of Attorney, preparing wills, and assessing mental capacity.

It is a cause that resonates closely across our firm, and we hope our fundraising helps the charity continue providing specialist support to people living with dementia and the families who care for them.

About Dementia UK

Dementia UK helps families access specialist support, advice and understanding.

Through face to face, community-based support and virtual appointments, Dementia UK provides practical care advice and help with future planning during what can be a confusing and difficult time.

With almost a million people currently living with dementia in the UK, and that figure expected to exceed 1.4 million by 2040, the need for specialist support will only continue to grow.
