Emily scoops first prize in our 1940s Weekend competition

Congratulations to 9-year-old Emily Rose Brown who scooped the prize in our recent colouring competition, which we ran as part of the 2019 Brighouse 1940s weekend.

Emily created this colourful image of a spitfire and wins a voucher for her family to spend at Pot Spots ceramics studio and a family meal at Meze Restaurant in Brighouse.

Special thanks go to local amateur artist John Wetton who created the line drawing for our colouring competition. John, who was born in Brighouse and is “eighty something”, is a keen amateur artist and served in the RAF. John chose Emily’s winning picture for it's 'bold use of colour'.

Congratulations to Emily and well done to everyone who entered.
