Quiz Raises Four Figures for Brain Tumour Charity

One thousand pounds was raised for a brain tumour charity by supporters from Calderdale and Kirklees who took part in our annual charity quiz last night.

The event, which was supported by local businesses as well as our friends, families and colleagues, raised vital funds for BTRS (Brain Tumour Research and Support across Yorkshire).

The work of the charity was highlighted to us by local Head Teacher Martin Moorman who, earlier this year, joined sons Jake and Harry in completing the brutal 490 mile “Camino” trek in the French Pyrenees in support of the charity. Their epic trek and support of the charity was inspired by Jake’s incredible recovery from life saving brain surgery.

The much coveted Wilkinson Woodward Bearders Trophy was won by staff and supporters of local charity The Next Step Trust who beat off fierce competition from our colleagues at Boococks Estate Agency and the aptly named “Unfairly Dismissed” - a team made up of employment law specialists, including our own, Jon Dyson.

Prizes were generously donated by:

Shibden Mill Inn of Halifax

BAC Outdoor Leisure in Elland

BLOC eyewear

North Seasonal Kitchen, of Brighouse

Golf professional Daniel Konyk at Woodlands Driving Range in Staincross

Helen Konyk at Estetica Beauty Clinic  in Lindley

Natalie Faulkner of 1913 Beauty salon in Huddersfield

Personal trainer Sam Taylor of Huddersfield

Jodie Konyk at Artistic Nails and Beauty in Bradford

Adele Wills Yoga of Halifax

Radiance Beauty of Halifax

Huge thanks go to our hosts the MBi Shay Stadium and to everyone who supported the quiz.
